On Cloud... Games Collab!

Another project that I am starting up is a composition task. The project will see me create a track a few minutes long, which I will then pass on to several games students. The aim is that my composition will inspire the games students to create a basic set of graphics, making my track seem interactive and making it an audio-visual product.

For my track, I have chosen to create a 'chilled-out' instrumental track, with the idea of getting the games students to create graphics of the sky and animals like birds to convey the idea of flight.

So what do I mean by 'chilled-out'?

Chill music is a subgenre of easy-listening, and is characterised by slow tempos, smooth melodies and tracks that give an overall relaxed mood. Chill music is usually instrumental, and mine will be as well.

For this project I am inspired by John Powell's Romantic Flight (How to Train Your Dragon, 2010) and Thatgamecompany's video game Flower (Sony, 2009), who both use audiovisuals to tell a story and create relaxed atmosphere.

Stay tuned for progress on my composition!
